Speaking Engagements

Teaching and empowering people with information is a passion of mine. For the past fifteen years I have been engaged in teaching and coaching on some level.  I have experience presenting at professional conferences and in formal academic settings, as a public-school teacher, as a gymnastics coach, and speaking and teaching in a church and community settings.  I love to teach and help people understand new concepts, ideas, and skills.

I would be happy to speak and present psycho-educational information relevant to your school, church, business, or community mental health needs at your upcoming events.

Examples of past presentation topics include:

Managing Perfectionism

How to help kids and teens manage anxiety

What to expect immediately after a traumatic event [given to high schoolers and their families the day after the Parkland, FL shooting]

Community resources for dealing with suicidality

Post-traumatic growth

Parenting and perfectionism

Cognitive dissonance in religion

Forgiveness and boundaries in a Christian context

Navigating addiction language around pornography and sex

Christian couples therapy

Cultural issues in family therapy (ex: Family Therapy in Mexico)

Managing dual relationships by practicing ethical therapy in small religious communities

Presentations on a specific DSM-V Diagnosis (ex: Schizophrenia)

As you can see, I  enjoy speaking and relating to people on a wide range of topics.  Contact me to learn more about a customized presentation for your event.
