Online Services
I’m now exclusively in telehealth private practice so all of my services are online services!
Seeking out therapy online is a great way for people to get the help they need in a convenient and discreet format. If you are worried about your privacy and don’t like the idea of being seen walking into a therapist’s office, online therapy might be a good fit. Other reasons for finding a counselor online include: a work schedule that requires a lot of travel or living in an area without many mental health resources.
In my experience, online therapy works best for older teen individuals and couples. As tech-savvy as kids are, it can be difficult to engage younger kids online. I do provide a structured CBT program for younger tween kids whose parents want to participate with them. For the youngest kids, is best practice to do therapy in person.
There are other circumstances where I do not recommend online therapy. For example, it is not a good choice for people who have serious mental illness or pervasive suicidality. If you have a question about whether your circumstances would be appropriate for online therapy, feel free to contact me, or set up an intake session to talk about your circumstances in further detail.
