It is hard to believe that I have waited this long to promote a Brene Brown book. This month I am featuring Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead. Brene Brown has exploded in popular psychology circles in the last few years due to her best-selling books and well-received TED talks. She has a lot of great content out there including a new podcast called Unlocking Us, workshops, and even a Netflix special.
The reason I love her so much is because all her work is research-based and comes from real experiences in many people’s lives. She is not just a guru spouting her own ideas—all her information comes from qualitative research and data that she has combed through, meticulously organized, and parsed into themes.
I am a relatively fast reader, but to be honest, her books take me a while to get through. Her writing style is not my favorite even though she is very relatable. Despite this, I still find her books incredibly worthwhile because of her groundbreaking research on vulnerability. There is a reason all her books are so highly rated. She presents high-quality content and life-changing principles in a simple way that anyone can understand.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a Brene Brown book today. Daring Greatly which teaches about the importance of vulnerability is a great place to start.
